If I calculated correctly (& someone please check my work), Mr, Damon overstated things a bit. I calculate that a 72-yr old male has an 84.99% chance of surviving to see his 76th birthday and a 67.05% chance of making it to his 80th birthday.
So, odds of not surviving his 1st term are a bit better than 1 in 7 and not surviving 2 terms is about 1 in 3.
Not that my numbers are particularly comforting, I'm just sayin'.
