TULLYCRAFT Tuesday - Recording Update

Some folks have emailed us with questions about the progress on our new album. We tend to record a little slower than most bands. We "discuss" practically everything. If you're at all curious about our process and have a few minutes to kill, check out this video. This was a recent vocal recording session.

MP3 of the Day

A couple years ago Magic Marker Records released an amazing album by the Florida based PLASTIC MASTERY called, In The Fall Of Unearthly Angels. It was the record that Jeff Mangum should have made after In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. If you don't already own it, you should really pick-up a copy. Today we have Remember That Night I Thought I Was Going To Die? from this much overlooked album.

A Very Merry December 8th

For those of you who may have missed Jenny's performance of "Johnny Are You Queer?" at our talent show this last summer, you've got another chance to catch her. Three Imaginary Girls, "Seattle's sparkly indie- pop press," are hosting a Holiday Party on Friday, December 8, at The Crocodile Cafe, to welcome in the holiday season with their favorite local rockstars singing karaoke... and Jenny along with Cori (and maybe Chris) are going to be performing at least one song! The night will kick-off with a Sub Pop and Barsuk Records-supported pre-party with an acoustic set from of Sub Pop artists Fruit Bats and Barsuk Records' Jim Noir. The event will also feature John Roderick of the Long Winters as Indie Rock Santa Claus... so have your wish lists ready! If you can't make this event and would like to see Jenny's talent show performance, check out a QuickTime clip here. We hope to see some of you on the 8th!

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

Hope everyone's having a great day. For anyone at home cooking this morning, may I recommend France Gall's Les Sucettes as the best possible baking music ever? It get me through a lattice crust and two batches of gingersnaps. Hope Jeff likes gingersnaps.

MP3 of the Day

Happy Thanksgiving! Some of you might want to consider picking up Jeff Fell's Party Mustaches. They're perfect for almost any special occasion!

In 2003 Darren Hayman formed THE FRENCH, after his band Hefner disbanded. The French released an excellent album titled, Local Information on Too Pure that same year. Today's song, The Wu-Tang Clan is from that album.

Last Sunday we tracked some gang vocals with the three male members of the 'craft. Catering was sponsored by Doritos brand Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch Tortilla Chips, and Rolling Rock tall-boys. Chris was wearing a cheerful red v-neck, and there was a faint smell of cat-pee coming from behind the couch.

MP3 of the Day

(WARNING - If you are easily offended , this might not be your cup of tea)
CARS CAN BE BLUE are anything but your average guitar-n-drums, girl/boy twee band. It's true, they write quirky bubblegum pop songs that are completely endearing, but they also challenge their listeners with "adult themes" sprinkled throughout their songs. Some people find it funny, while a few others see it as being in bad taste. Either way, when Becky Brooks rolls "I can think of things to do" off her tongue, the audience tends to pay attention. The band has one album called, All The Stuff We Do, available on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records.

What's in the vault?

We found a small stash of the famous 'F**k Me, I'm TWEE' t-shirts! We have them in pink and baby blue. Sizes are limited. We seem to have mostly youth-large and medium. These are from the original run, and we're not having any more made up. $12 will include postage, a t-shirt, some other mystery gift from the vault. If you think you might be interested, contact us here.

"Who cares if their voices are slightly out of tune, the guitars sound great and they've got choruses that jackhammer into your brain" - Indie Pop Teen Beat

If you're a fan of THE PIPETTES, this issue included a live version of the band covering the Tommy James and The Shondells' classic I Think We're Alone Now.
