MP3 of the Day
On this day in 1989 The Pooh Sticks recorded a session for John Peel's show on BBC Radio 1. Today we have the song Young People from that radio broadcast. Happy Friday!

I forget how they loved the drum machine! plus+ sampled sound effects, had they no shame?
Yeah, the sound effects are a bit cheesy. It sounds likes like they had recently purchased a sampler and felt obligated to use it.
Young people, in the city tonight
the links to MP3s don't seem to work..
Samples were on vinyl - the BBC's own 'in house' samples library ON VINYL. It was Dale Griffin's doing - he was having a lot of fun that day (unlike the other time we recorded with him, when he was super-grumpy).
Anyway, "Young People" was written by Andrew Griffiths and Hywel James of Swansea group The Love Nazis. Not by me. Because of an administrative oversight on the part of Griff and H the song has always remained unregistered for payment of publishing monies... which has over the years led to rumours that I'd had those $$. Not true, as Griff will happily confirm. I wouldn't bother The 'Craft blog with this, cos obviously who really cares?, except there's been such an almighty s-storm going on this week! So anyway, everyone got it? The song was written by Griffiths and James - always was, is, and always will have been. If anyone actually cares enough to actually want details to all the hoo-hah, ask me - I'm easy to find.
