Flashback MP3 of the Day

Released in 1985, the Casio SK1 was once the cheapest sampler in the world. You could sample about 2-3 seconds of mono sound. There was little you could do with the sound once you'd sampled it, but it still made for hours of fun. The keyboard had no midi, was distinctly low lo-fi, and was quite possibly the best electronic instrument ever made. Casio released the SK5 as a follow up to the SK1. It had a few more bells and whistles, including the ability to hold more than one sound, but was basically the same 8-bit sampler. Today's song, SK1 & SK5, is a tribute to those wonderful keyboards by THE ZAMBONIES.

I officially love my SK1. But it now is missing 3 black keys.
