MP3 of the Day
In 2001 a band from Perth, Australia called BURGERS OF BEEF self released a pretty great 10 track demo CD. The four years that followed saw the band unleashing a number of terrific live performances and two CD EPs. In December 2005, Burgers of Beef released their first full length album, Ride to Victory on Pleasant Pheasant Records. Today's song, Satellite, is from their 2005 debut.

Come to Australia!!! Melbourne, if you can!! There's bats in the trees of this park near downtown! I had to sleep there one night when I had no money. C'mon, be a part of the International Pop Underground, and include us, in person!!
cute song!
Love the song. The band name, well, that's a different story...
yeah, it sounds like an ad for the cattle industry
What effect does a band’s name have on your enjoyment of the music? Fantastic band names are few. Horrible band names are much more common, saved only by the weight of great music.
Yea, this band name is not a favorite. In my head, I've filed them under BoB -- calling them Bob is a lot more fun. The band called BoB.
Hey, check out our band! Tonight we're playing an Ethiopian Steakhouse in the CD. No notebooks allowed. We let out our immense cleverness imaginary for the artsy piglets, Selattliytse!
no notebooks allowed?
my bad, it's actually in Queen Anne or somewhere over that way. Yeah, there'll be enough cameras and stuff already, just come and enjoy!
Their website says Burgers of Beef was derived from an amusing supermarket incident involving a food product that could not be mentioned.
a food product that could not be mentioned?
It's not unlike a forgotten classic by our hostboys here, "i know a secret about you" Was that what it was called? Conspicuous consumption, sad. Don't mind me, I'm dealing with issues involving WTO.
Are you quoting the Tullycraft song "True Blue" from our very first single? How would you even know that song? Is this Gary?
groot returns!
heh heh david, yeah, I don't know Sean, the onslaught by possible groot disguisers has gotten to be a big ball of yuck, maybe in a good way, not sure. I've grown a tad leery of things i read on the web outside of work, the occasional science journal or animal husbandry newsletter. can i ask a question?
Wow. Suddenly this comment thread reads like a Dali.
Daliwood, you pecker! Let Sean speak. or g o ahead Gary and just ask.
Daliwood, you pecker! Let Sean speak. or g o ahead Gary and just ask.
i was gonna ask a music related favor, but it seems pointless now. i've tried to stick to the diy hype since leaving tullycraft, and i guess i'm still there. oh what the hell, do you know anyone who likes to sing 3 part harmony, ya know, barbersop, the roches, beach boys sort of thing? i'm almost tempted to join a choir, but feeling that my ulterior motive is to meet people who want to do what i want to sing seems a little strange. i know, suck it up. you don't care.
Gary,
Let's disguise our new found hatred for all things Tullycraft with a mask of three part harmony?
...and once again, we are cleansed with a brand new day.
I wish this band had songs on the internett... Or an American distributer. I can't afford to order it. Oh well.
