MP3 of the Day

CASIOTONE FOR THE PAINFULLY ALONE (aka Owen Ashworth), recorded their first three albums using only battery operated keyboards and a cassette 4-track. Today's song, Jean, If You're Ever In Portland, is from the third album, Twinkle Echo, released in 2003 on Tomlab.

This does sound like Six Cents. At first I didn't like Six Cents and Natalie because I loved Tullycraft so much. I expected something similar to Tullycraft but no, it was completely different. But after I let it sit for a while and tried it without the expectations, I found it to be quite remarkable. Quiet, witty and honest, Sean's lyrics were better than ever. Since then, Six Cents and Natalie has found a place in my shirt pocket, close to my heart.
