Flashback MP3 of the Day

In 1994 cub released the Volcano 7" - it was only available via mail-order or at cub shows. The A-side was the album version of Your Bed and the B-side was an exclusive live version of Cast A Shadow. Today's song is the cub cover of the Beat Happening classic Cast A Show. Also, here is the video for their 1995 hit New York City. Check out the video here.

They Might be Giants changed some of the lyrics in their version. They sing "Co-op City" and "Katz's and Tiffany's" - where Cub sing "Alphabet City" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
And where Cub sing "The Empire State where King Kong lives", TMBG sing "The Empire State where Dylan lived". Instead of "I'm three days from New York City and I'm three days from you." Flansburgh has sung "I'm three hours from New York City and I'm three hours from you." during live shows.

Ok, I think these days Lisa M is doing some country-esque movie making thing in LA, and Robynn might be involved with djs and culture jammers. Is this close? Where's Lisa G hiding?
