MP3 of the Day

Hey! Now that the New England Popfest is officially falling apart, you might want to make your way to Georgia before the Athens Popfest ends this weekend. It's not too late to catch BUNNYGRUNT & The Bert Dax Cavalcade of Stars at the 40 Watt tomorrow night (Aug. 12th). Today we have Monkey Pants '05, from their 2005 album, Karen Hater's Club, released on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records.

These guys are great! Thurston must've been helping tune guitars or aomething when bunnygrunt opened for Be Your Own A-Hole last winter. Otherwise, they'd be ecstatic!

I've heard that some bands have backed out including The Orchids. As far as I know Secret Shine are still playing but they weren't one of the stellar Sarah Record's alumni.

True the Orchids are not playing. I'm not sure if I'll go, I hear the hotels are booking up fast and it's such an expensive time of year to be in New England. Alas. But if you do go, Bob K got a new guitar and Lil Hospital rocks so hard now.

But yeah, Athens is so 1992006! I got to hang out with Frank Boscoe and Rob Christiansen yesterday.

yeah, i googled it too, but the simpler url http://www.nepop.com/ seems more interesting. maybe that's why skippingstones is falling apart

i'm not really a fan of any of the bands on skippingstones. superfallingstars are terrible!

nepop.com is run by this total shit stain who every year threatens to sue William Fallingstars and the indiepop list and everyone else. It's NOT INDIEPOP, it's old new wave leftovers like Robin Lane and the Chartbusters and other power pop bands. I have little to say about the music, but the guy who runs it is a major league asshole. Fuck him. And no, it's not a popfest.

The new england popfest is fine, a couple of bands have pulled out but I don't see how that's "collapsing". If you announce a lineup a year in advance it's not too surprising to see changes.

Bunnygrunt is playing the popfest right? the NoHo one? well, the Besties and the Lil Hospital will be in attendance.

and Frank Boscoe is pretty popular this summer. he came out to the Shumai/Lil Hospital show in Albany this past July. he declined the heroin Shumai was offering him. ofcourse, i accepted.

uhh, where am i going with this? go to the NoHo Popfest!
