In 2001, Sacramento duo John Conley and Verna Brock (both from Holiday Flyer) hooked up with drummer Ross Levine and released an album as CALIFORNIA ORANGES. This terrific 10 song debut (that clocked in at just under 30 minutes) became one of my favorite records of the year. Today's song, Olivia, is from that self titled release on Darla Records .

My crush on Debbie Harry paled in comparison to my crush on Olivia Newton-John.
The crush on Olivia was so strong that I even tried watching Xanadu the other night. I had to turn it off halfway through because it felt like I was tripping balls.
So I immediately fell in love with this song. It made me want to get on a boat, go out to sea, and disappear to escape my creditors.
