TULLYCRAFT TUESDAY

Each Tuesday we feature a band (or artist) covering a Tullycraft song. Today we have GENOE covering Miss Douglas County, from our second album City Of Subarus released on Cher Doll Records. Hey! If you're in a band or know a band that covers a Tullycraft song, send it our way and we'll put it on the site!

i saw the trachtenburg family slideshow players last week and they were awful. why have i read so much good stuff about them?

Why? a few reasons:
- little girls are cute
- the band's seattle-new york connection
- being 'awful' is somewhat cool
- retro multi-media

What do you mean by 'awful'? People used to pay ten bucks knowing that Cat Power might not feel like singing on a given night. I don't like Trachtenburg's either. Though they seem to "give the people what they want?" Why not just listen to the Kinks? I don't know.

This version of Miss Douglass County might grow on me, but it doesn't feel like a particularly inspired cover. It reminds me of that cover of Bizarre Love Triangle years ago that tried it unplugged and completely missed the point. Nevertheless, the song's still charming.
