TULLYCRAFT TUESDAY

Each Tuesday we feature a band (or artist) covering a Tullycraft song. The SALTINE CRACK WHORES are an up and coming self described anti-folk collective. Today's Tullycraft cover is Wild Bikini, from this Vicksburg, Mississippi band's debut album, We're More Awesome Than Any Other Motherfuckers In This Galaxy, released on Fnarf Records in 2005. Hey! If you're in a band or know a band that covers a Tullycraft song, send it our way and we'll put it on the site!

I have no idea who this band is, but i like their rendition of this song. I saw Nickel Creek play a cover version of "Toxic" by Brittany Spears last week. It was funny and actually quite good!

Fnarf Records has some serious fucking distribution problems. I heard they went (morally) bankrupt.

Did someone mention the brilliance of nancy o last week?

The Safeco Field photo has cd cover art written all over it.

I don't think brilliance of Nancy O was limited to just last week.

I think this is the band we weren't allowed to know who was in... it. Did that sentence make sense? It was a secret.

Can I know now? I can't imagine it's that important.

I'm pretty sure it's Ann Wilson from Heart and Yusuf Islam, better known as Cat Stevens. This is the song that got him kicked out of the Muslim religion, where swimsuits are not allowed to be "wild".

I had actually heard that Ann Wilson rumor, but I hadn't heard about Cat Stevens. Or were you just joking about that part?

The truth of the matter I think is that first he was Steven Georgiou, then Cat Stevens, Yusuf Islam, and now the rumor is that most people know him as Steve. Is that right Fnarf?

While it is true that back in the Sixties I used to follow Nick Drake around and swat him on the ass with a rolled-up newspaper, it is NOT true that I am Cat Stevens in Exile.

You're thinking of Shakin' Stevens.

And I would NEVER joke about something as beautiful as this.
