MP3 of the Day

The B-GIRLS were an all-girl group that formed in Toronto in 1977. After some success in Canada they up & moved to New York City and wound up hanging out with the hipster-elite including Sid Vicious, Johnny Thunders, Joey Ramone and Stiv Bators (The Dead Boys). Bassist Cynthia Ross was actually briefly engaged to Stiv. The band broke-up 1981, and the girls only ever managed to record 16 songs in the four years they were together. Today we have one of their lost hits called,Who Says Girls Can't Rock.

A CD was issued in 1997. I think it might be available on Amazon?

The CD is out of print, but there are still some used vendors selling it at significant markup on Amazon. They also showed up on at least one Bomp Records comp (Pop on Top? Roots of Powerpop?) that came out almost exactly the same time as that anthology album in '97.

I'd forgotten how much I liked them, so thanks for the reminder!
