MP3 of the Day
TUSCADERO was an indie rock band from Washington, DC - one of the most prominent on the Washington-based TeenBeat Records roster. Formed in late 1993, Tuscadero released several 7" singles, an album, and an EP on TeenBeat before signing to Elektra Records in 1995. Tullycraft played a few shows with them on the east coast after they had signed to their major label. I think it's safe to say they weren't the friendliest band. They felt they were rock stars and they definitely acted like it. The only other band I've seen such inexcusable backstage behavior from was Camera Obscura, but that's another story. Anyway, Tuscadero's Pink Album was still a pretty amazing record regardless of how awful they were in person. Today we have Dime A Dozen from this 1994 TeenBeat LP. Although the band broke up in 1999, they reunited in February 2005 for a one-off performance at TeenBeat's twentieth anniversary celebration.

from living in DC and seeing Tuscadero a million times, i have run into them a bunch. perhaps to other bands, they may have been "rockstars." but on their days off, they were pretty decent people. but i only caught onto them after Elektra was about to drop them, so that could've been a humbling experience. oh well. where are they now?!!?!?
aww i wanted to hear what happened with camera obscura...
Yes, please do tell about your experience(s) with Camera Obscura. They've recently become one of my fav bands, but if they're a bunch of a$$holes or something i'd certainly like to know. :)
