MARITIME formed in 2003 out of the ashes of
The Promise Ring and
The Dismemberment Plan. After the two bands broke up, singer/guitarist Davey von Bohlen, drummer Dan Didier (of The Promise Ring) hooked up with bassist Eric Axelson (of The Dismemberment Plan). You can catch
MARITIME at the
Yard Dog Folk Art Gallery (1510 S. Congress Ave.) at
6:30PM on
Saturday,
March 17th at
SXSW. Today we have
Sleep Around from their album,
Glass Floor.

Yeah! Sometimes I miss the early emo bands like Mineral, The Promise Ring, and possibly early Jimmy Eat World.
Maritime’s jangle is as much Aztec Camera as it is Superchunk. I love this band.
