Sound Magazine was the third album from
THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY. It was released in August of 1971, and many consider it to be their best record. It was recorded at the famed
Western Recorders (Studio 2) in Los Angeles. The project enlisted some of the most impressive studio musicians of the day, including
Larry Knechtel and
Hal Blaine (both played on
The Beach Boys'
Pet Sounds).
Sound Magazine included a number of standout songs including:
You Don't Have to Tell Me, Echo Valley 2-6809, One Night Stand, and the chart topping
I Woke Up In Love This Morning. But today's song,
Summer Days, is my favorite on the album.
