MP3 of the Day

The new BOAT album, Let's Drag Our Feet came out just yesterday on Magic Marker Records, but many of you may not know that BOAT has been self-releasing music (on CDRs) for a number of years prior to their two Magic Marker albums. Today's MP3 is a BOAT rarity from 1999 called Pudding Pop Rock from their, Steady Diet Of Blood EP.

I'm pretty sure this picture can't be real. Z. Duffy was born bald.

BOAT started in 2004....this song was recorded for "Life is a Shipwreck, We Must Remember to Sing in the Lifeboats."

I believe this picture may have been faked. BOAT has never been photographed in front of an atomic explosion.

These CDrs are out of print.....probably for good. Maybe someone should post the songs online.

"After All" had some choice cuts.

even the very earliest boat recordings only date back to 2003, seeing as i think i have the most complete collection of early boat recordings...just here to back up h. fozzleberry. Glad to see that I'm getting the photo shop love, even if not an official band member. But who's breaking my balls about being bald up there?

I love the new BOAT history, I'm not even going to try to dispute these fantastic claims. Although I do recall living with D. Crane in Chicago in 2002, teaching on the South Side and playing Wilco, Modest Mouse and Pavement cover songs on the weekends. And I do distinctly remember receiving my very, very first Boat EP in the mail sometime toward the end of 2003. The Painted Shapes EP
