Martin Sheen was born
Ramon Estevez on this day in 1940. The son of a Spanish immigrant, Sheen was the seventh of 10 children. He moved to
New York after high school and began pursuing an acting career while working as a janitor. His film and TV career has included numerous political roles, including one of my very favorites as fictional U.S. president
Josiah Bartlett on the TV series
The West Wing. Previously, he played
Robert Kennedy in the TV movie
The Missiles of October (1974),
John F. Kennedy in the miniseries
Kennedy (1983), and the
White House chief of staff in
The American President (1995). Sheen is also the father of
Emilio Estevez and
Charlie Sheen. Today we have a
live version of
When The President Talks To God by
BRIGHT EYES. Happy Friday!

Nice! Bright Eyes is great. I didn't like Cassadaga as much as some of the older stuff. Less emotion. Fav song from Cassadaga was Hot Knives, but it sounded like his mouth was too close to the microphone or something. Does Tullycraft listen to Park Ave.? It's the pre-Bright Eyes Conor Oberst project and it was some nice indiepop. Anyway, now I'm rambling. Kind of.
