MP3 of the Day

ELVIS PRESLEY died 30 years ago today in Memphis, Tennessee and with his passing, 1977 truly became the year that punk broke. Elvis was 42. Doctors said he died of a heart attack, largely brought on by his addiction to prescription barbiturates. Also on this day in 1985, the last episode of the television show Dukes of Hazzard aired, concluding a successful five-year run. Aside from Bo (John Schneider), Luke (Tom Wopat), and Daisy (Catherine Bach), the star of the show was the General Lee.... a 1969 Dodge Charger. Today we have Suspicious Minds recorded live at Madison Square Gardens in 1972 by the King himself.

Elvis' sotto voce muttering after "old friends I know" is the most awesomest thing I've heard today.

So Elvis never got to see an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard? That IS a tragedy.
