MP3 of the Day

Tragedy struck Cincinnati, Ohio on this day in 1979, when eleven people were trampled to death during a stampede for seats at a Who concert at Riverfront Coliseum. The band was not informed of the deaths until after the show. Today we have a live version of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1 by THE FLAMING LIPS.

Coddled egg
In cooking, coddled eggs are slightly cooked eggs; see coddling. One recipe calls for pouring boiling water over the egg and letting the egg and water stand for 10 minutes.
An egg coddler is a porcelain cup with a lid. These have been manufactured by Royal Worcester in Worcester, UK, since at least the 1890s, and were probably invented there. Many companies [1] now make egg coddlers, and some are highly sought after collectors’ items.
Prior to pouring in the raw egg and immersing in boiling water, the inside of the egg coddler is usually buttered , in order to lubricate its surface and prevent problems removing the cooked egg. Although traditional coddled eggs are somewhat undercooked, this is not always observed. Because the coddled eggs are still raw, there is a risk of salmonella poisoning.

Cincinatti?! The Bungles got whip-creamed by the Pit Crew yarsterday. I couldn't follow. The Leni Riefenstahl documentary was messing with my buzz that was left over from trying to account for other interceprions during the NYG/Bears match. Who one? Who cares. Still, sharp uniforms. And they looked great on the big screen at the pub, the one where we usually go to root on Manchester United and other REAL football teams. But this is a day infamy for Cincinatti. A moment of silence will be here....ok, yeah, my brother once saw Cheap Trick in the early 80s where the crowd waiting to get in pressurizedcramppushing general admission so much that a plate glass panel crashed thru and teens got cuts all over their arms.

"your daddy's alright, you're mommy's alright, they just seem a little weird / Surrender...Surrender..but don't give yourself away...."
