Herbert Munro was born on this day in 1899. Munro set the world motorcycle land speed record in 1967 at the
Bonneville Salt Flats on a self-modified Indian motorcycle with a 600 cc engine. He went 190.07 mph. His record still stands today and his efforts inspired the motion picture
The World's Fastest Indian (2005), starring
Anthony Hopkins. That film was inspired by the 1971 short documentary film
Burt Munro: Offerings to the God of Speed. Both movies were directed by
Roger Donaldson. Today we have the song
Motorcycle Boy by
COURTNEY LOVE - the band, not the awful celebrity.
1 Comments:
Little known fact is the drums on this song are recorded on 2 tracks due to Pat Maley's extrodinary drumming skills and lack of studio engineering talent.
