For those of you who weren’t able to make it to any of our east coast shows earlier this month we still have a few of our limited edition tour T-shirts available. Actually, they were made slightly more limited when one of them caught fire at the Popfest show in NYC. They are American Apparel and were designed by the wonderful Corianton Hale. Unfortunately, we are completely sold out of size Medium, but we do have a few size Small, Large and a couple X Large left. If you are interested, you may order one from our merch page. Today we have a live version of the song I Wish That I Was Beautiful For You by DARREN HANLON recorded at the Moore Theatre in Seattle.

MP3 of the Day
On this day in 1939, one of the most famous scenes in movie history was filmed... Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara parting in Gone with the Wind. Director Victor Fleming also shot the scene using the alternate line, "Frankly, my dear, I just don't care," in case the film censors objected to the word "damn." The censors approved the movie but fined producer David O. Selznick $5,000 for including the curse. Today we have the song This Heart Is A Stone by ACID HOUSE KINGS. Happy Friday!

We're home from our six show mini-tour. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows! We were so excited to meet so many nice people. We honestly didn't know what to expect; we didn't know if anyone would turn out for those shows, but we were pleasantly surprised ever night. We had a terrific time. Thank you!

The film Beyond The Valley of the Dolls was released on this day in 1970. Originally intended as a sequel to the 1967 film Valley of the Dolls, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls was instead revised as a spoof of the original after 20th Century Fox rejected the two screenplay drafts that were submitted. The final script was written by film critic Roger Ebert. As a result, the studio placed a disclaimer at the beginning of the film informing the audience that the two films were not connected. Posters for the movie read, "This is not a sequel - there has never been anything like it". Upon its initial release, the film was given an X rating by the MPAA. In 1990, it was re-classified as NC-17. Today we have the song How Come You're Such A Hit With The Boys, Jane? by DOLLY MIXTURE.

Heading home today.
As we're sitting here in Washington, DC thinking about heading out to Baltimore to catch our flight home, Jenny just reminded us that it's Tupac Shakur's birthday today. She just informed us that Tupac attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet. I guess he performed Shakespeare and played the role of the Mouse King in The Nutcracker. What a thug! Catch you in Seattle.

Winooski!
We made it! We're in Winooski, VT! It's hot here! I just found out that the word "winooski" comes from the language of the Abenaki tribe, and means "this is where the wild onions grow." Tonight we're playing our first show at The Monkey House w/ The Smittens. Maybe some of you are wondering what Winooski, Vermont is like on a Wednesday night in June. Well, that's what I'm wondering! I guess I'll find out tonight. I'm sure Cori will be sending more posts from his iPhone... stay tuned.

We’re playing with Sprites and From Bubblegum To Sky on Sunday, June 15th at The Red and The Black Bar in Washington, DC. Gotta run!

On this day in 1990, U.S. District Court Judge Jose Gonzales ruled that the rap album As Nasty As They Wanna Be by 2 Live Crew violated Florida's obscenity law. MP3 of the Day
On this day in 1970, Ray Davies of THE KINKS traveled round trip from New York to London to re-record one word in the song "Lola." The original lyrics had the word "Coca-cola," but because of product placement and wanting to get radio air play they changed the line to the generic "Cherry Cola". The minor change paid off, and the success of the single allowed the band to negotiate a new contract with RCA Records, and construct their own London Studio. Today's MP3 is Lola by THE KINKS

MP3 of the Day
If you happened to be at the LOS CAMPESINOS! show in Seattle on Saturday night maybe you noticed that Tullycrafers Jenny & Cori opened the show as The Special Places. If you missed it, this was the very first official Special Places show - they've played a couple times at the annual Tullycraft talent show - but nothing in front of a crowd this large. They were terrific and as charming as ever. Los Campesinos! were also wonderful. Today we have the last song LOS CAMPESINOS! played in their set Sweet Dreams, Sweet Cheeks.
