MP3 of the Day

On this day in 1965, Bob Dylan performed for the first time with an electric guitar. He surprised his audience when he came onstage with other musicians, including an electric bassist and electric guitarist, and launched into "Maggie's Farm." The crowd, who were used to hearing him play folk songs, erupted in boos and catcalls, shouting “sellout.” After three songs, Dylan left the stage. Undaunted, Dylan continued to play his shows electric and his defiant attitude and quest for artistic integrity influenced later bands, including many playing at this weekend’s Indietracks festival in the UK. The festival starts tomorrow and some of the bands playing this year include: Milky Wimpshake, The Wedding Present, Darren Hayman, The Smittens, Ballboy, The Manhattan Love Suicides, Red Pony Clock, Darren Hanlon, Comet Gain, and Los Campesinos! Today we have the song Nightclub Voyeur Cliche by MILKY WIMPSHAKE. Happy Friday!
