MP3 of the Day

On this day in 1830, the Liverpool & Manchester Railway opened. It was the world's first inter-city passenger railway in which all the trains were timetabled and operated primarily by steam locomotives. At the opening day ceremony William Huskisson, a popular member of Parliament for Liverpool, misjudged the speed of the approaching train and was run over, becoming the world's first railway passenger fatality. Today we have A Passengers Guide to Getting By from BLACK BEFORE RED.
