The television series MacGyver debuted on this day in 1985. The show was about a laid-back, extremely resourceful secret agent named MacGyver, played by Richard Dean Anderson. The series ran for seven seasons and was a Monday night staple on ABC. The executive producer of the show was Henry Winkler aka Fronzie (from Happy Days).
