On this day in 1980, 350 million people around the world tuned in to find out who shot J.R. on the television series Dallas. J.R. had been shot on the season-ending episode the previous March, which still stands as one of television's most famous cliffhangers. The plot twist inspired widespread media coverage and left America wondering "Who shot J.R.?" for the next eight months. The November 21st episode solved the mystery, identifying Kristin Shepard, J.R.'s wife's sister as the culprit. Today we have the song Rumours by LOVE IS ALL - who are playing in Seattle this Sunday.

Believe it or not, the kid i carpooled w/ for grade school soccer practice has a Facebook page. About a year after high school he dove into a swimming pool at an amusement park (i guess it was hot that day, other dudes and gals were doing it) and snapped his neck. Been in a wheelchair ever since. I've seen him on a couple of occasions since then and each time was... awkward
The Facebook page has him smiling in bunches of photos. Sometime in the last few years he has taken up skydiving and has spectacular aerial views. This past summer he posed with John Doe from the Knitters. Things seen on a screen can still pull my heartstrings. And I just wore my 2002 Showbox Knitters T-shirt last night!
