MP3 of the Day

On this day in 1987, Hüsker Dü played their last ever show in Columbia, Missouri. The band was on tour in support of their Warehouse: Songs and Stories album, and drummer Grant Hart was trying to quit heroin. His bottle of methadone had spilled earlier in the day, but he played the show in Columbia without incident. Still, fellow band members Bob Mould and Greg Norton were concerned that Hart would soon be suffering from withdrawals and wouldn't be able to continue the tour. Hart insisted he could perform, but Mould canceled the dates anyway. Hart quit the band four days later and Hüsker Dü broke-up. Today we have the song Don't Want to Know If You Are Lonely by Hüsker Dü.
