Dave Grohl was born in Warren, Ohio on this day in 1969. On September 25th, 1990 Grohl auditioned to be the drummer for Nirvana. Later that night Kurt Cobain drove to Olympia, WA and dropped in on Cavlin Johnson's radio show at Evergreen State College. He told Johnson: "I wanted to be as spontaneous as possible, you know? I just thought I'd come here and say 'Hi'." During the radio show Cobain played a number songs, including the then-unreleased "Lithium," "Polly" and a cover of The Wipers' "D-7." Today we have the song Midnight Radio by THE MINUS 5 with CYNDI LAUPER.
