Christopher McCandless was born on this day in 1968. In 1992, Christopher hiked into the Alaskan wilderness with little food and equipment, hoping to live in solitude. Almost four months later he died of starvation near the
Denali National Park and
Preserve. Inspired by the details of McCandless' story, author
Jon Krakauer wrote a 1996 book, and in 2007
Sean Penn directed a film about this life. Both were titled
Into the Wild. Today we have the song
If I Don't See You Again by
NEIL DIAMOND from his 2008 album
Home Before Dark.
