MP3 of the Day

On this day in 1878, Thomas Edison patented the phonograph. He had developed the machine the previous year, using needles to read tin cylinders. The first song recorded on the phonograph was "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Somehow this seems appropriate considering the The Music Tapes' album Clouds and Tornadoes was recorded using antique instruments with a 1930s Webster Chicago Wire Recorder. Don't miss The Music Tapes, Brian Dewan and Nana Grizol TONIGHT at The Vera Project in Seattle. The show is all ages. Today we have the song Motion In The Ocean by NANA GRIZOL from their awesome album Love It Love It.

Tonight's Nana Grizol show might be the best thing ever.

I hope so! This is the band's first time in Seattle and my first time here as well. This Vera Project place is neat! Everybody here is really nice, and a little bit scattered and not-quite-sure about what's going on, so I feel better for also feeling this way.

Come say hi! To all of us, but I'll be the one playing the clarinet. Er, the one who is not a girl.
