On this day in 2004,
K Records reissued the second
Beat Happening album
Jamboree on CD/LP. The album had originally been released on
Rough Trade/K Records Records in 1988. The record included what would be perhaps the band's best-known song, "Indian Summer," which has been covered by everyone from
Ben Gibbard to
Luna.
Dean Wareham once joked that the song was
"indie's 'Knocking on Heaven's Door'... everybody's done it." Today we have
Indian Summer being covered by
THE MANHATTAN LOVE SUICIDES.
