On this day in 1937, Crystal City, Texas unveiled a six-foot-tall, brightly colored concrete statue of Popeye during the city's second annual Spinach Festival. It would be America's first monument to a comic strip character. Today we have the song Monument by MIRAH from her album Advisory Committee.
