MP3 of the Day
On this day in 1993, Jeff and I spent the entire day recording with our first band Crayon, at Yoyo Studios in Olympia, WA. We were working on a couple songs that would eventually become The Snap-Tight Wars 7" and few more that would be given to some compilations. That night we stayed with producer Pat Maley. At the time, Pat was living at the ABC House in Olympia. If you don't know, the ABC House is a collectively run, 100 year old home, located on Olympia's Westside. It has hosted all-ages shows in its basement for over 20 years. On that particular evening a young band called Sunny Day Real Estate was playing at the house. Tired from a full day of recording, Jeff and I (and a few other housemates) opted to skip the show in the basement, and watch Jason Alexander host Saturday Night Live upstairs in the tv room. In our defense, Peter Gabriel was the musical guest, and if you ask me, you can't see "In Your Eyes" performed live too many times. Today we have The Snap-Tight Wars by CRAYON. Happy Friday!

wow-- crayon came up today in a question i answered. something asking your first major purchase when you were discovering music on your own and i answered 'probably a crayon 45' -- awesome-- love this song-- this is the exact song that started me on the road to trouble-- thank you :)
This may be one of the best songs ever. Or I might be brainwashed after hearing/playing it five times a day on my college radio station freshman year. I believe it topped the charts as a 7", on the CD, and with the live version we included on our station comp.
yeah, my fav
i was at the lollapolooza freaking out to pavement and guided by voices amongst others and someone i just met from boston told me she thought i would like crayon. i ordered snap tight wars from parasol the next week. she was right.
