On this day in 1992, Pavement released their debut album, Slanted and Enchanted. Copies of the record had been floating around on cassette tape for almost a year prior to its official release on Matador Records. In 2005, Slanted and Enchanted ranked #4 on Spin magazine's Top 100 Albums of the Past 20 Years, and #134 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 greatest albums of all time. Today we have the song Here by PAVEMENT recorded live for BBC 1's John Peel Show in December, 1992.

Isn't there some talk of a Pavement reunion at the Matador 20th anniversary party?
there is always talk of a pavement reunion. I've seen the Jicks 5 times but they will never match the magic of Pavement.
