On this day in 1986, a video pirate calling himself ''Captain Midnight'' managed to override the satellite transmission of an HBO movie with a printed message protesting HBO's scrambling of its satellite-to-earth television signals. Over the next 2 months, he would regularly interrupt HBO's signal with derogatory messages about the service and hints on how to descramble it for free. Today we have the song Midnight Station by THE ELEPHANTS.
