MP3 of the Day

On this day in 1978, Cheap Trick played a concert (and recorded it) at the Nippon Budokan in Japan. The recording was released as a live album titled: Cheap Trick at Budokan. It was originally intended to be exclusive to Japan, but it was a popular import in the United States. The demand for the album became so great that Epic Records finally issued a US version in 1979. Not one of Cheap Trick's first three studio albums made it into the Top 40 in the United States, but Cheap Trick at Budokan went triple platinum in the US, and it launched the band into international stardom. Today we have the song Southern Girls by CHEAP TRICK from their Budokan performance.
