While we were in San Francisco this past weekend, we learned that on this day in 1937 the Golden Gate Bridge opened to the public. Over 200,000 pedestrians walked the 4,200-foot-long suspension bridge, which connected San Francisco and Marin County. On May 28, the bridge opened to cars.
