12 Days of Christmas - Day Ten

In 1980, RSO Records released a seven inch single for the song "What Can You Get a Wookiee for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb?)" by The Star Wars Intergalactic Droid Choir. The b-side of the single featured the very first professional recording by Jon Bon Jovi (credited as "John Bongiovi", his birth name), who sang lead vocals on the song "R2-D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas." Today we have What Can You Get a Wookiee for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb?). This song reached #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart that year.

Oh, yes! It will be very difficult to top this. Nothing drives home the holidays like a snow covered Wookiee...

I like the Bon Jovi tidbit. Still can't stand the aging rock star syndrome. The Who for christ's sake are playing the Super Bowl! Have to bet Pearl Jam, if not already, will eventually be courted for the big game. The way I see it, they should accept. Given that someone knows someone who knows someone who knows Stone Gossard, it would be awesome if they morphed within the song, maybe "Animal", a verse and chorus of "Superboy and Supergirl." It'll fly, because a rap interlude with Eminem and Alicia Keys could save the weirdness in comic book Super Hero fashion. Am I dreaming? of a white Christmas?
