MP3 of the Day

The Magnetic Fields are playing tonight (and tomorrow) at the Town Hall here in Seattle. They are currently on tour supporting their new album, Realism. I think my favorite song on the new record is You Must Be Out Of Your Mind. That may be because it sounds sorta similar to All The Umbrellas In London from the Get Lost album, which is also one of my favorites. See you at the show!

when stephen slipped the term 'just intonation' into his stage banter during a 1991 show, mostly i was disgusted by the pretensiousness, but in hindsight maybe it was motivation to explore my preferred musical theories of the time. i believe the pretenciousness lives on, good for him!

That’s right, Wimp Factor 14 played with The Magnetic Fields at some of their earliest shows huh?

Harriet Record Label days. ahhh. probably out of my mind for thinking back on them so often. partial as i may be, Tim Alborn ran the greatest record label west of Greenwich Mean Time....and then:

They played a pretty diverse set last night including songs from: i, Get Lost, The Charm of the Highway Strip, Holiday, and "Suddenly There Is a Tidal Wave" from The Wayward Bus - I'd never seen them play that song. They played both of the singles released on Harriet, "All I Want to Know" from the Pieces of April soundtrack, and stuff by both The 6ths and The Gothic Archies. Of course they played a number of new songs from Realism, and managed to almost completely ignore 69 Love Songs. One of the best sets I've seen by them for sure!

Tell him to let it go or you don't have the guts? Instead you are just rude via email, stating the "oh, so fake - we are going out of town" statements. Go buy yourself some balls.
